   Advocacy Committee – Colin Thomasset / Monica Kurz - PLEASE SIGN UP NOW!  Mental Health Advocacy Day is March 7 at the Kansas State Capitol. Advocates are encouraged to sign up for the NAMI Smarts advocacy training event March 6.  Ready to volunteer?  Contact Madison@namikansas.org and she will give you a job.

  • State MH Hospitals Budget - both subcommittees endorsed the Governors Recommendation   Testimony
  • Check out the KSNT Inside Kansas Politics episode featuring several KMHC members talking about mental health policy and hospitals.
  • KDADS Budget - Senate Ways and Means Human Services Subcommittee recs will be Tuesday at 12 noon.  House Social Services Budget Committee recs Monday at 3:30 pm   Testimony
  • KDHE Budget - HSSBC recommended many enhancements, including increased physician reimbursement rates and a $20 million fund for rural hospitals serving the uninsured.  These (and other) enhancements approved to help the uninsured, while the base funding for Medicaid Expansion was removed.
